Does PainPause contain any chemicals, drugs, or electrical components?

No. PainPause does not use chemicals, drugs, or electrical components, making it suitable for people looking for a safe and drug-free option.

How quickly can I feel relief after applying PainPause?

Some people feel relief within minutes. For others, it may take a couple hours.

Is PainPause easy to use?

PainPause is easy to apply, just like a bandage.

Each package includes clear instructions for applying and removing the patch, where to place it based on your pain, and how to care for your skin while wearing it.

Does it hurt to wear PainPause?

Most people feel very little, if anything at all. Some notice mild, temporary discomfort when first applying the patch.

What is PainPause made of?

PainPause is a small patch with a soft, medical-grade adhesive, similar to a bandage. Inside the patch are tiny metal points (the diameter of a human hair) held in place by flexible springs. All of the components in PainPause are made of medical-grade materials.

The springs provide mechanical forces on the Micro-Points, which play an important role in how they block pain signals and shut down pain.

What’s included in the PainPause package?

Each package contains a total of four patches. Two devices are contained in two sterile pouches, with two patches per pouch. The package also contains a bag with Covers that are to be placed over the patches after they are applied.

You’ll also find an instruction insert that explains how to apply and remove the patch, where to place it based on your pain, and how to care for the device and your skin. It also includes safety information.

Does PainPause fix the cause of pain?

PainPause does not treat the underlying condition causing pain. It works by helping interrupt pain signals, which can provide relief even when the source of pain isn’t known.

What clinical evidence supports the use of PainPause?

PainPause has been evaluated in clinical studies in adults with chronic low back pain, sciatica, and knee pain. Many suffered from severe and chronic pain. In the studies, 80% of people experienced clinically significant pain relief that lasted for a week after a single application. You can read the full clinical report here.

USING PAINPAUSE

Can I use PainPause if I have sensitive skin?

Yes. PainPause has been tested on people with sensitive skin and is designed to be gentle on the skin. It is hypoallergenic and does not contain latex.

Where on the body can I apply PainPause?

You can place PainPause almost anywhere on the body. Do not apply on areas with thick hair or moist areas such as the scalp, armpits, or groin.

Do I need a healthcare provider to apply PainPause?

No. PainPause is designed for easy self-application. Another adult may assist if needed.

Is someone else needed to apply PainPause?

For locations where the area in which it is being applied cannot be seen such as the back, the patch should be applied by someone else, such as a caregiver, spouse, family member, partner, or friend.

What should I know before using PainPause?

Before applying:

  • Make sure the skin is clean and completely dry.
  • Avoid touching the adhesive or the Micro-Points.

While wearing the patch:

  • Keep PainPause covered using the Cover included in the package.
  • Leave the patch in place for 7 days for best results.
  • If the patch comes loose, apply a new one. You may also secure it with an adhesive bandage or gauze if it is only partially dislodged from the skin.

To help keep the patch in place:

  • Keep it covered at all times.
  • Avoid rubbing the area when:
    - Putting on or removing clothing
    - Drying the skin after showering (pat dry instead)
  • Avoid tight clothing or belts if the patch is near the waist.
  • Avoid swimming or activities that cause heavy sweating.

How long should I wear a PainPause patch?

Each PainPause patch should be worn for 7 days. If you feel discomfort or notice skin irritation, remove the patch sooner.

What happens if my PainPause patch comes off before 7 days?

If your patch comes off before 7 days, you may apply a new one if the skin looks healthy and feels comfortable. Just make sure the total time wearing both patches together does not go beyond 7 days.

Can I wear more than one PainPause patch at the same time?

Yes. If the painful area is large, you can use more than one patch. Apply patches side by side, but do not let them touch or overlap.

You can also use patches in different areas of the body at the same time.

If patches are placed close together, remove them gently, especially if you plan to keep one patch on longer, to avoid loosening the other or irritating the skin.

Can I reapply a PainPause patch if I need to adjust it?

No. Each PainPause patch is designed for single use only. If it is removed or does not attach properly, it should be discarded and replaced with a new patch.

How long should I wait before applying a new PainPause patch to the same body area?

If a patch comes off early or needs to be replaced, you may apply a new patch right away, as long as the skin is not irritated and the total combined wear time does not exceed 7 days.

If the skin is irritated, wait at least 2 days until there is no irritation before applying another patch.

Can PainPause be used to treat pain beyond 7 days?

PainPause can be used as needed for pain, as long as each patch is worn for no more than 7 days. If another patch is applied to provide longer treatment, be sure the skin is free of irritation before applying it.
